Jai Ambe Gauri, Maiya Jai Shyama Gauri,
Tumko nishidin dhyavat, Hari Brahma Shivari.
Victory to you, Mother Ambe Gauri; Vishnu, Brahma, and Shiva meditate on you day and night.
Verse 1
Maang sindur virajat, tiko mrigmad ko,
Ujjwal se dou naina, chandravadan niko.
Vermilion graces the parting of your hair and a musk tilak your brow; your two eyes shine bright and your face is lovely as the moon.
Verse 2

Rakt pushp gal mala, kanthan par sajai.
Your form gleams like gold, adorned in red garments; a garland of red flowers graces your throat.

Kehari vahan rajat, khadag khappardhari,
Sur-nar-munijan sevat, tinke dukhhari.
Riding the lion, bearing sword and skull-bowl; gods, humans, and sages serve you, and you take away their sorrow.
Verse 4
Kanan kundal shobhit, nasagre moti,
Kotik chandra divakar, sam rajat jyoti.
Earrings adorn your ears and a pearl your nose-tip; your radiance shines like a million moons and suns.
Verse 5
Shumbh-Nishumbh bidare, Mahishasur ghati,
Dhumra vilochan naina, nishidin madmati.
Slayer of Shumbha and Nishumbha and destroyer of Mahishasura; with smoke-hued eyes, ever immersed in divine intoxication.
Verse 6
Chand-Mund sanhare, Shonit Beej hare,
Madhu-Kaitabh dou mare, sur bhayheen kare.
Destroyer of Chanda and Munda and of Raktabija; you slew both Madhu and Kaitabha and freed the gods from fear.
Verse 7
Brahmani Rudrani, tum Kamala Rani,
Aagam-nigam-bakhani, tum Shiv patrani.
As Brahmani, Rudrani, and Kamala you are queen; extolled by the scriptures, you are Shiva's consort.

Tum hi jag ki mata, tum hi ho bharta,
Bhaktan ki dukh harta, sukh sampatti karta.
You alone are the mother of the world and its sustainer; remover of the devotees' sorrow, giver of joy and prosperity.
Verse 10
Bhuja char ati shobhit, var-mudra dhari,
Manvanchhit phal pavat, sevat nar-nari.
Your four arms shine beautifully, holding the gesture of boon-giving; men and women who serve you obtain their heart's desire.
Verse 11

A golden platter shines with agar and camphor wicks; at Shri Malketu your shrine blazes like a million jewels.

Shri Ambe ji ki aarti, jo koi nar gavai,
Kahat Shivanand Swami, sukh sampatti pavai.
Whoever sings this aarti to Shri Ambe — says Swami Shivananda — gains joy and prosperity.
