Aarti Keeje Hanuman Lala Ki

The aarti to Lord Hanuman, the mighty devotee of Rama. Frequently sung after the Hanuman Chalisa on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Refrain

Aarti kije Hanuman Lala ki,

Dusht dalan Raghunath kala ki.

Perform the aarti of beloved Hanuman — destroyer of the wicked, the very power of Lord Rama (Raghunath).

Verse 1

Jake bal se girivar kanpe,

rog dosh jake nikat na jhanke,

Anjani putra maha baldai,

santan ke prabhu sada sahai.

By whose strength the great mountains tremble, near whom no disease or fault dares come; the son of Anjani, giver of great strength, ever the helper of the saints.

Verse 2

De beera Raghunath pathaye,

Lanka jari Siya sudhi laye,

Lanka so kot samudra-si khai,

jaat Pavansut baar na lai.

Honoured with the betel-pledge, Raghunath sent him forth; he burned Lanka and brought back news of Sita. Lanka's fortress had a moat vast as the ocean, yet the son of the wind crossed it without delay.

Verse 3

Lanka jari asur sanhare,

Siyaram ji ke kaaj savare,

Lakshman moorchhit pade sakare,

aani sanjivan pran ubare.

He burned Lanka and slew the demons, accomplishing the work of Sita and Rama. When Lakshmana lay fainted at dawn, he brought the Sanjivani herb and saved his life.

Verse 4

Paithi patal tori jam-kare,

Ahiravan ki bhuja ukhare,

Baen bhuja asurdal mare,

dahine bhuja santjan tare.

Entering the netherworld he broke the gates of death and tore off Ahiravana's arms; with his left arm he struck down the demon hordes, and with his right he delivered the saints.

Verse 5

Sur nar muni aarti utaren,

jai jai jai Hanuman ucharen,

Kanchan thaar kapur lau chhai,

aarti karat Anjana mai.

Gods, humans, and sages perform his aarti, crying 'Victory, victory, victory to Hanuman!'; on a golden platter the camphor flame glows as mother Anjana performs the aarti.

Verse 6

Jo Hanuman ji ki aarti gave,

basi Baikunth param pad pave.

Whoever sings the aarti of Hanuman dwells in Vaikuntha and attains the supreme state.
