A father-in-law's insult and Sati's fire, a five-year-old who wins the pole star, and a king who milks the earth.
What happens in this skandha
Daksha insults Shiva, Sati gives up her body at his sacrifice, and Virabhadra destroys it before Shiva restores Daksha. A five-year-old prince, Dhruva, leaves home in hurt and finds the Lord. King Prithu levels and milks the earth so every creature can eat. Narada's allegory of Puranjana — a king who forgets he is a guest in his own city — closes the book with the Prachetas.
