Character of the Valmiki Ramayana
Kumbhakarna
कुम्भकर्ण
Ravana's giant brother, who called the war unjust and marched out to die for his brother anyway.
Embodies
- Loyalty — Standing by another when leaving would cost you nothing.
- Brotherhood — Brothers who serve and brothers who betray, and what divides them.
Questions to explore
- Was Kumbhakarna's loyalty noble or blind?
- Should he have fought a war he himself called wrong?
