The most auspicious dates of the year for business are Akshaya Tritiya (Apr 19, 2026), Diwali / Lakshmi Puja (Nov 8, 2026), Vasant Panchami (Jan 23, 2026), Gudi Padwa (Mar 19, 2026), and Vijayadashami (Oct 20, 2026) — each is considered self-auspicious. It is widely considered the single most auspicious day of the year for any new venture, especially in finance, gold, and trade. The Sanskrit 'Akshaya' means 'imperishable / inexhaustible' — the day's blessings are believed to compound rather than fade.
Major business launches are widely avoided during Chaturmas (Jul 25 – Nov 20–21, 2026; the closing Devuthani Ekadashi splits by city — see the November window above). In the Vikram Samvat calendar (followed by many North Indian and Gujarati business communities), the new year begins the day after Diwali. The new ledger is worshipped in the Diwali Lakshmi Puja itself — the symbolic accounting reset.
