Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 11, 2026. This page explains, at a practical level, what information Sanatani.ai handles and how it is used in the product today.

What we collect

  • Account information from your sign-in provider, such as your name, email address, profile picture, provider name, and provider account identifier.
  • Profile and astrology inputs you provide, including birth date, birth time, place of birth, and optionally your current location and timezone details.
  • Family-member information you add, including name, relationship label, birth details, gender, and notes.
  • Chat content and chat-session history when you use Ask PanditJi.
  • Generated outputs tied to your account, such as kundali data, calendars, interpretations, matchmaking reports, and related metadata.
  • Feedback you submit, including survey responses, reactions, comments, and limited non-PII context attached to feedback events.
  • Technical and session information needed to keep the app working, such as authentication tokens, refresh cookies, browser-stored session ids, and optional analytics or reliability telemetry when configured.

How we use information

  • To authenticate you and keep you signed in.
  • To generate kundali, Panchang, Namakaran, matchmaking, muhurat, and chat features you request.
  • To personalize results for you and the family profiles you manage.
  • To store prior reports, chats, and generated artifacts so they can be reopened later.
  • To improve product quality, debug issues, measure usage, and review feedback.
  • To protect the service, enforce rate limits, and investigate misuse or security problems.

How information may be shared

  • With the OAuth provider you choose during sign-in, as part of authentication.
  • With infrastructure and service providers that help us run the product, such as hosting, storage, database, logging, authentication, and analytics providers.
  • With legal or regulatory authorities when required by law, or when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or our rights.
  • Within the app only as needed to deliver the features you request; for example, your family-member records are linked to your own account so reports can be generated for them.

Cookies and browser storage

  • The web app uses an HttpOnly refresh cookie to help restore authenticated sessions in the browser.
  • The app also uses browser storage for certain product functions, such as active chat session ids, post-login redirect state, feedback prompt state, and install-prompt dismissal state.
  • When analytics is configured, page views and product events may also be recorded to help us understand product usage.

Your controls

  • You can update your own profile details inside the app.
  • You can edit or delete family-member records you created.
  • You can delete saved chat sessions and saved matchmaking reports from the app experience where those items are managed.
  • You can log out at any time, which clears the browser session state used by the app.
  • For privacy questions or requests that are not self-service in the product, please contact us through the Feedback page.

Retention

  • We keep information for as long as it is reasonably needed to operate your account, provide requested features, preserve saved outputs, improve reliability, and meet legal or security obligations.
  • Some items may remain until you remove them from the app or ask us to review a privacy request.

Family and child data

  • The app allows an account holder to add family-member profiles, which may include children or other relatives.
  • If you add another person's information, you are responsible for having the authority and permission to do so.

Important note

Adding a Privacy Policy meaningfully reduces product risk, but it does not eliminate all legal risk. If you want stronger coverage, the next step should be a Terms page and a lawyer review of the live product, data flows, and jurisdictions you serve.
